Newark Library, a branch of the Alameda County Library, serves the 43,753 residents of the City of Newark. The County Library serves a population of over 523,000 in the cities of Albany, Dublin, Fremont, Newark, Union City, and the unincorporated areas of Castro Valley, and San Lorenzo. The City of Newark enhances service by contributing funds for additional library open hours. The dynamic Newark Library League, led by President Mary Hammock and Vice President Karen Bridges, raises funds and promotes the Library (membership form). E-mail Acting Branch Manager Brian Edwards with questions.
