This site features an education-specific search engine with links to over 110,000 sites. It offers monthly reviews of other educational web sites, a grade-specific search engine, national education employment listings, curriculum, etc.
  • Department of Education
    Very thorough site covering lesson ideas, teacher toolkits, professional development, resources, and publications.
  • About.com : Secondary School Educators
    This About.Com guide contains annotated listings of Web sites of interest to secondary school teachers and educators. Topics covered include: active listening; cheating; cooperative learning; critical thinking; grading systems; lesson plans; student motivation; and substitute teachers.
  • About.com: Elementary School Educators
    This About.com guide contains annotated listings of Web sites of interest to elementary school teachers and educators. Topics covered are mostly divided up by curriculum subject.
  • AOL @ School
    The portal for teachers and administrators provide professional development and administrative help, and subject and age-specific lesson plans.
  • Education World
    Ed World contains original content, including lesson plans, practical information for educators, information on how to integrate technology in the classroom, and articles written by education experts; website reviews; special features and columns; and employment listings.

  • Common Core Standards

  • Discovery Education Lesson Plans
    DiscoverySchool.com, a subsidiary organization of The Discovery Channel, offers many well-developed lesson plans. This site is geared toward teachers and other educators for K-12.
  • Ed Helper
    Created by a team of teachers, edHelper.com is dedicated to providing teachers a single shop for educational resources. Edhelper has lesson plans and downloadable worksheets in many subject areas, including math, reading and writing, social studies, science, and technology. There are also links to education news stories and teaching aids on the Web.
  • Education Oasis
    This website is for educators everywhere with curriculum resources like lesson plans, printables and worksheets, and teacher planners; teacher tools like award certificates, bulletin boards, and clip-art; book reviews; product reviews; Idea Central, and other helps for teachers.
  • Federal Resources for Educational Excellence
    F.R.E.E. makes hundreds of federally supported teaching and learning resources easier to find. Resources are organized by subject areas and also can be found through full-text and quick searches, as well as by date added under the New Resources link.
  • Kathy Schrock's Guide
    Updated regularly, this site has a great annotated Subject Access directory of Internet sites. There are also sections on Search Engines, including other search tools as well as general Internet information; and Additional Information, which has Kathy's training slide shows, material on evaluating Web pages, a monthly new sites list, and much more. It's designed for teachers to enhance curriculum and professional development.
    The Schools of California Online Resources for Education provides quality internet resources and teacher developed lessons in four subject areas: history/social science, language arts, mathematics and science. The site is searchable by grade level or topic.
  • STEM
    University of St. Thomas' guide to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum and teaching.
  • Teacher Net Lesson Plans
    TeachNet is an online resource for teachers, with a large collection of lesson plans organized by subject, and has plans for all ages and levels of students from K-12.
  • Teachers Domain
    "Online, multimedia resources for the classroom and professional development," targeted at K-12 teachers. Includes videos, lesson plans, and more. Most of the content requires registration (free) for access, but a fairly lengthy tour of the site answers questions about what users will find.
  • TeacherTube
    Tools to save teacher's time, including lesson plans, printables, newsletters, management and more.
  • TED-Ed
    Hand-picked set of free online educational talks many submitted by educators themselves but enhanced by TED officials. An online forum, the Ted-Ed Brain Trust, will encourage discussion of how to reform teaching using the videos and other technology.
