Project MOVE Classes

Ashland Community Center

Basic Computer Lab,  Monday, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

The class serves a diverse group of people who are making a lot of progress in learning computer basics. In fact, several students with no previous computer experience and have steadily improved their computer skills. This class is ongoing and open to anyone who wants to experience a positive and warm learning environment.

 

ESL Job Seeking Class and Basic Computer Skills class, Monday and Thursday, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

An English as Second Language class focused on improving English for Job Seeking. In addition, a basic computer lab is available for participants to learn how to get an email account, complete forms online, learn about work processing and mouse skills, and access important job related library resources. Beginning to Intermediate levels.

 

Job-Search Drop-in Clinic, Thursday, 6 - 8 PM 

This is a Job- Search for Success Class on how to get the job skills you need to find work, including your personal introduction pitch, interview best practices and follow up, on line applications explained, goal setting and library resources. Job coaching will be provided. This program is made possible in partnership with the Ashland Community Center. 

 

Hayward

Eden Area America's Job Center of California

Basic Computer Training, Thursday, 11 AM - 1 PM

This four week hands-on workshop will show you the basics of using a computer. Plus mouse practice, word processing, file management, Internet Searches and email skills to help you find a job.  After completion, add this workshop to your resume.  Clients are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions to get the full benefits of the workshop. /Sign up at Front Desk

 Project MOVE - Mobilizing Our Vision for Employment - serves adults in unincorporated areas of Alameda County - specifically Ashland, Cherryland, and San Lorenzo. Project MOVE builds job-readiness by improving the students' reading, writing, computer, and job hunting skills. Students expand their job prospects by learning to use Alameda County Library's online courses and job search tools.
