Call for Submissions: 2019 Writing Contest

Looking for ways to showcase your creativity and writing skills?

The San Lorenzo Library is seeking writing submissions for its Library Lit Contest. Send us your best poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Submissions accepted now through January 1, 2020.

Writing Contest Guidelines

  • All submissions must be under 1,500 words.
  • Submit only one piece per genre. For poetry, submit two to four poems.
  • Remove names and identifying information from entries to be submitted. Entries will undergo a  judging process where judges are not aware of any information about the authorship of entries. Entries will be judged by a committee of three.
  • Attach submissions to email:, include Library Lit Reading Submission in the subject line.
  • You must be 17+ years old to participate in the writing contest.
