Alameda County Library

We are in the process of developing a phased approach to reopening that ensures the health and safety of our communities and staff. In doing so, we are following the best available advice from our county, state, and national health officials as well as the American Library Association. We plan to share our reopening plan next month, and our website will be updated with the details of the plan. Read more

Connect with a Lawyer

The Lawyers in the Library program is a free information and referral program staffed by volunteer lawyers. In a one-on-one appointment, lawyers can answer questions on most legal topics. If legal help is required, people are referred to other agencies.

The program is co-sponsored by Alameda County Bar Association, Legal Access Alameda.

While our physical locations are closed, we are able to offer a limited number of phone appointments. Appointments run for 15 minutes. Due to limited availability, we can only make one appointment per month per person or family.
