Everyone can play the Summer Reading Game at the Alameda County Library this summer from June 1 - August 1. Read or listen to audiobooks to receive free books. Everyone who reaches at least the halfway point on their gameboard will be entered to win a grand prize.
Pick up a gameboard at your local library starting June 1st! If you'll be out of town you can also download and print a gameboard here (check back on June 1st). Just bring it into your library to collect your prizes.
We are not offering an online format for the 2019 Summer Reading Game. Visiting our libraries to play the game, spin the wheel, and collect prizes builds and strengthens connections among players, families, librarians, and our communities.
This year everyone will receive free books for playing the Summer Reading Game! Pre-Readers and Children will receive two free books for completing the game. Teens and Adults will get a coupon for a book from the Friends of the Library and one free book from the Alameda County Library. Everyone reaching the halfway point of the game will be entered to win a grand prize. Those who complete the game will receive two chances to win the prize!
Are you entering grades 6th-12th and looking for a fun volunteer opportunity this summer? Apply today at your local library to become a Summer Reading Volunteer! Speak to a librarian at your location to find out about training dates.
